Fully Taught (PG.Dip/M.Eng/Masters) or Research Plus Taught (M.Sc.Eng/M.Sc) Course option:
Applications are called in local newspapers and on this website. In general, taught courses commence in the first quarter of every year.
Duly filled Application Form (PDF) and the Recommendation Forms (PDF) along with the necessary supporting documents should be sent by post to reach us within one week from the closing date of applications.
Fully Research-Based Option (PG.Dip/M.Phil/Ph.D):
The student can apply at any time of the year after finalizing a suitable project with the consultation of the supervisor(s). For more information and downloading application forms please visit CERPS.
Admission Requirements for each Postgraduate Program:
⮚ A bachelor's degree acceptable to the Faculty Higher Degrees Committee or
⮚ Such other qualifications as may be approved by the Faculty Higher Degrees Committee as suitable for candidature for PG.Dip. in a field related to the program of study.
⮚ A bachelor's degree in engineering with First- or Second-class Honours or
⮚ A bachelor's degree in engineering with acceptable postgraduate qualifications or a minimum of one year’s experience after obtaining the Degree qualifications in a field related to the program of study.
⮚ A degree or such other qualification equivalent to bachelor’s degree in Engineering as may be approved by the Faculty Higher Degrees Committee as suitable for candidature for the M.Eng. Degree with a minimum of one year’s experience, after obtaining the degree or such qualifications in a field related to the program of study.
⮚ A bachelor's degree with First- or Second-class Honours or
⮚ A bachelor's degree with acceptable postgraduate qualifications or a minimum of one year’s experience after obtaining the Degree qualifications in a field related to the program of study
⮚ A degree or such other qualification equivalent to bachelor’s degree in Engineering as may be approved by the Faculty Higher Degrees Committee as suitable for candidature for the Masters. Degree with a minimum of one year’s experience, after obtaining the degree or such qualifications in a field related to the program of study.
⮚ A bachelor's degree in engineering with First- or Second-class Honours or

⮚ A degree or such other qualification equivalent to bachelor’s Degree in Engineering as may be approved by the Faculty Higher Degrees Committee as suitable for candidature for the M.Sc.Eng. Degree with a minimum of one year’s experience, after obtaining the degree or such qualifications in a field related to the program of study.
⮚ A bachelor's degree with First- or Second-class Honours or

Re-Admission Guidelines
Guideline for the Re-admission to Postgraduate Programs (for the PG candidates whose maximum duration for the program of the study has already been elapsed) in the Faculty of Engineering, University of Peradeniya.

It is adviced to read the General Regulations for the Postgraduate Programmes in the Faculty of Engineering, University of Peradeniya, SRI LANKA, before applying. These regulations are effective from September 2021.
How to Make Payments:
Application Fee: Rs. 1500/=
The payments can be made either by cash or cheque.
Course Fee: Candidates could be considered for being allowed to pay the course fee in not more than three installments on request.
In addition to the course fee, university stipulated fees must be paid at the beginning of the program as given below
- -- Annual registration fee
- -- Student library fee
- -- Lending library fee
- -- ID card
Cash Payments:
Make the payment to the Shroff, University of Peradeniya (The shroff counter is located at the senate building) or to any branch of Bank of Ceylon (BOC). In the deposit slip, clearly mention the followings:
- Application fee - PG program in Electrical and Electronic Eng.,
- PG/EE/XX batch (XX replaced with the Intake year)
- Account No. 000 1274 688
- Bank - Bank of Ceylon
- Branch - Peradeniya
- PG code: 11.01.01-07.05
Please attached the original receipt to your application.
Cheque Payments:
Hand over a cheque drawn in favour of Bursar, University of Peradeniya to the Secretary, PG program in Electrical and Electronic Engineering with the application. This can be done on any week day during office hours.
