Students are encouraged to join the clubs or societies in the Department, Faculty and in the University for the purpose of furthering academic and social objectives. There are a number of societies and associations registered in the University.
Inventors Club - UOP
This is a student community of University of Peradeniya which is founded in order to encourage and culminate innovation, critical thinking and problem solving skills. Robotics Society - UOP
Robotics Society is a club that brings together the students who are interested in learning and working with robots. Not only we compete in Natioanl and International competitions but also providing robotic literacy to undergraduates in the University of Peradeniya by organizing seminars, workshops and competitions.
SEDS Pera Chapter
Students for the Exploration and Development of Space (SEDS) is a 501(c)3 non-profit that empowers young people to participate and make an impact in space exploration. SEDS helps students develop their technical and leadership skills by providing opportunities to manage and participate in national projects as well as to attend conferences, publish their work, and develop their professional network, in order to help students become more effective in their present and future careers in industry, academia, government, and education.
Hackers' Club - UOP

Hackers' club provides an amazing opportunity for the undergraduate students of the University of Peradeniya to hack and innovate in Engineering's way. It aims to improve the coding skills, problem-solving skills, and soft skills of the undergraduates. Everyone who is interested in innovation, programming, competition can become a member of Hackers' Club, irrespective of their Faculty or the Department.
Astronomical Society of UOP
The Astronomical Society of University of Peradeniya is one of the foremost societies of department of physics which promotes astronomy within the university and the Kandy district and is an open society for all undergraduates of the university. We are oriented to inculcate our society members and public about various astronomical phenomena and improve their observatory skills. University Astro night is one of the major events conducting by the society.
University Explorers' Club
University Explorers' Club is the most active Nature Exploration student body for undergraduate students at the University of Peradeniya. We are the owners of the most beautiful university in the world surrounded by the beautiful Hantana mountain range. So we are the explorers who realized that this ownership is not just to be looked at and comforted, but to be enjoyed and preserved. The motto of the club is "Walking is Living".
Rotaract Club of UOP
The Rotaract Club of University of Peradeniya is one of the most prestigious Rotaract Clubs in the RI District 3220. The club was founded on the 9th of July, 2002 and was chartered in the same year. We try to bring together people, develop their leadership and professional skills and have fun through the service. As a University-based Rotaract Club, we concentrate mostly on Professional Development and Community Service.
LEO Club of UOP
The Leo Club of University of Peradeniya is one of the startup Leo Clubs in Leo District 306 C1. The club was charted on 30th December 2021 fulfilling the needy that had been lasting since a long time. Our initiatives, covering various aspects such as community services, volunteerism, leadership development, youth empowerment and promoting Opportunities aim at creating a lasting impact on the community.
Computer Society - UOP
The CSUP Peradeniya, Computer Society University of Peradeniya recognized as the paramount society in the university which connects all the nine faculties together with the intention of transforming tomorrow's world with intelligence together with practical and theoretical knowledge to the betterment of the world. CSUP, is one of the leading societies in the university and as of now near to 200 students are currently members of the CSUP.
AeroGenZ - UOP
The Aero Club symbolizes the forefront of aviation catered towards Generation Z, the youngest generation with a strong interest in and passion for aviation. Our mission is to provide vast knowledge and experience on aviation, aeronautics, and aerospace to the Sri Lankan youth, with the aim of promoting STEM education, advances in science, technology, aeronautics and space exploration, sustainable aviation, and appreciation of Earth and beyond.
