To provide understanding of electrical installations, energy sources and power system components, their operation and protection so that students will have a sufficient knowledge to design electrical installations while appreciating safety measures.

Student will be able to,

ILO1: Describe different magnetic circuits, their properties and appreciate losses associated with them.
ILO2: Calculate and measure currents, voltages, voltage regulation and efficiency of transformers.
ILO3: Describe construction features and operating principles of auto-transformer, three-phase transformers, instrument transformers.
ILO4: Design an electrical installation and appreciate the safety measures used in installations.
