At the end of this course students develop the knowledge and understanding of nonlinear and multivariable systems as well as control strategies and techniques available for nonlinear and multivariable systems.

Stability, instability and limit cycles
Controlling nonlinear systems
Fundamental concepts and representing multivariable systems
Performance analysis of multivariable systems
Introduction to Controlling MIMO systems

Student will be able to,

ILO1: Analyze and describe the characteristics and phenomena of nonlinear and multivariable systems extending the knowledge of linear single input single output systems.
ILO2: Develop control strategies for multivariable systems.
ILO3: Evaluate stability of nonlinear systems and describe limit cycles.
ILO4: Develop control strategies for nonlinear systems based on feedback linearization.
ILO5: Determine appropriate control strategies and analyze the behavior of control schemes such as fuzzy, adaptive, sliding mode or back-stepping control.
