The certificate award ceremony of the Kelani Saviya Program for the successfully completed students of 11th Batch of Kelani Saviya Program was held on Friday, 2nd February 2024 at the Seminar Room-1 of the Faculty of Engineering, University of Peradeniya from 2.45-4.00 pm. Prof. Terrance Madhujith, Acting Vice Chancellor of the University of Peradeniya and Mr. Mahinda Sarapala, Managing Director of the Kelani Cables PLC lighten the event. The welcome address was delivered by Prof. Lilantha Samaranayake, Head, Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, University of Peradeniya. Dr. Udaya Dissanayake, Dean, Faculty of Engineering, University of Peradeniya addressed the gathering. Then, the audience was addressed by Prof. Terrance Madhujith, Acting Vice Chancellor, University of Peradeniya. Mr. Mahinda Saranapala, the Managing Director of Kelani Cables PLC also addressed the award ceremony.

Twenty-eight students, who completed the Kelani Saviya Program received certificates from the Acting Vice Chancellor of the University of Peradeniya. For the first time in this program, "Prof. Janaka Ekanayake Best Performance award" was awarded to the student who performed exceptionally in the program and Mr. K.V.D.T.J. Vidanage was the recipient of the award.

The exceptional guidance and support extended by Mr. Mahinda Saranapala, Managing Director of Kelani Cables PLC for the continuous evolution of the Kelani Saviya Program was recognized at the award ceremony. The plaque was handed over to Mr. Mahinda Saranapala by Prof Terrance Madhujith, Acting Vice Chancellor of the University of Peradeniya.

The Alumni Association of Kelani Saviya Program facilitated Prof. Janaka Ekanayake, University of Peradeniya, Mr. Mahinda Saranapala, Dr. Anil Munasinghe, and Mr. Channa Jayasinghe of Kelani Cables PLC for their dedication to the development and sustainability of the Kelani Saviya Program. The teaching panel of the Kelani Saviya Program was also facilitated.

The Award Ceremony was completed after a vote of thanks by Mr. Jayantha Wijesinghe, Coordinator of the Kelani Saviya Program of Kelani Cables PLC, and Dr. Prabath Binduhewa, Course Director, Kelani Saviya Program, University of Peradeniya.
